Regular services in Breage Church

Sunday morning services in Breage are normally at 11:15; different arrangements are made on the fifth Sunday of a month. An evening service takes place on the third Sunday of each month at 6pm. There is also a Holy Communion service on Thursdays at 10am.

Pinnacle repairs complete!

The scaffolding has been removed and the renovated tower can be seen in all its glory. The pinnacles are now vertical, and should remain so for many years to come.

Cornwall Historic Churches Trust make grant towards pinnacles project

We are grateful to the Cornwall Historic Churches Trust for a grant of 5,000 towards the cost of repairing the pinnacles.

Wolfson Foundation makes grant towards pinnacles project

We are grateful to the Wolfson Foundation Trustees who have decided to offer a grant award of up to 5,000 towards the cost of repairs to the pinnacles.

Pinnacles not as bad as first feared

The pinnacles are unlikely to go anywhere, because the metal rods supporting them are all OK. The problem is that the pointing has crumbled, causing the pinnacles to lean. This has been raked out, and the pinnacles will be wedged upright and repointed.

Penzance Orpheus Ladies Choir concert in aid of Friends

A good audience enjoyed a lovely concert by the Penzance Orpheus Ladies Choir on 15 August 2018. The money raised will go towards the pinnacle repairs now under way.

Pinnacles appeal launched at October event

Martin Matthews, the well-known local historian, gave a very well received illustrated talk on Breage parish in church on 11 October 2017. This event also saw the launch of an appeal to raise the additional funds needed for the pinnacles repairs.

Friends pay for clock repair

Many villagers are relieved to see (and hear!) that the church clock is working once again, having been out of action for quite some time. A seized bearing in the autowinding unit had to be replaced, and the Friends have paid for the repair.

Friends summer concert with the Richmond Singers & Falmouth Glee Singers

Despite the cold, wet and generally miserable summer's evening, a good audience turned out to enjoy an evening of musical entertainment by the Richmond Singers and the Falmouth Glee Singers, in church on Wednesday 16 August 2017.

Friends 2nd Anniversary event: John Strike on Shipwrecks

John Strike entertained us in Breage Village Hall on 11 May 2017 with his collection of magic lantern slides of Cornish shipwrecks and other things of local interest. We enjoyed pasties in the interval, and a good time was had by all.
